The Marcé Society Australasian Chapter and The Women's and Children's Health Network Inc. Helen Mayo House, Adelaide, will come together for the first time to present a two Day Conference for health professionals working with expectant parents and families with newborns and toddlers.
Helen Mayo House is a part of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Services at the Women's and Children's Health Network in Adelaide, which provide specialist care to perinatal families throughout South Australia. This includes consultation-liaison services to women birthing at the Women's and Children's Hospital as well as to infants receiving medical care within the nurseries and paediatric wards of the WCH; education, advice and Telehealth consultation statewide; and inpatient care in Helen Mayo House where mothers with severe mental health disorders are co-admitted with their infants. Helen Mayo House was one of the first Mother-Baby Units established in Australia in the 1980s, and since 1993 has run an annual conference to promote education and skill development for health professionals working with perinatal families.
