Nicole has worked at the forefront of research, policy and practice in perinatal mental health for over 15 years. Over the course of her career, she has collaborated with consumers, clinicians and policy-makers to develop and evaluate prevention, early intervention and treatment programs that are evidence-based and responsive to the needs of pregnant women, new mothers and their families, as well as the health professionals who care for them.
Nicole currently holds a Research Fellow appointment with the Australian Health Services Research Institute, University of Wollongong. In this role, Nicole is continuing to examine the effectiveness of innovative approaches to integrated perinatal mental health care, advocating for a greater focus on, and awareness of, perinatal mental health in service settings and the community, and extending her long-standing and highly successful national and international professional collaborations.
Nicole has been an Executive Committee member of the Australasian Marcé Society since 2019 and a co-opted Board Member of the International Marcé Society since 2020.
